In 2025, the total number of scam cases decreased by 27.6% to 37,308 and the total amount lost decreased by 17.9% to about $913.1 million

The Singapore Parliament passed new laws on Tuesday (4 Nov) that will see scammers subjected to mandatory caning. Under the Criminal Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill, scammers will get between six to 24 strokes of the cane depending on the severity of their offences.
